Shelby has spent her year serving Iron County through her Community Service Initiative, “STEAM: Find Your Sparkle.”
Through this initiative, Shelby is passionate about educating and inspiring young students to dream big and discover what she calls their unique “sparkle.” She encourages confidence, creativity, and curiosity by introducing youth to opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
Shelby has even created her own coloring book designed to make STEAM concepts fun, engaging, and accessible for children. Throughout her year, she will work with schools, community organizations, and local leaders to empower the next generation to believe in themselves, explore their potential, and shine in their own way.

Sydney Rasmussen has spent her year serving Iron County through her Community Service Initiative, “HERLight,” which focuses on helping young girls recognize their worth, build confidence, and shine in their everyday lives.
Through HERLight, Sydney works to create uplifting spaces both in person and online where girls feel seen, valued, and encouraged. Her mission is to inspire girls to believe in themselves, spread kindness, and be a light for others.
By partnering with local schools, organizations, and community members, Sydney hopes to create lasting impact and encourage positivity throughout Iron County and beyond.
